Excuse me, but what's the difference between march=k8 and march=athlon64?
Actually I own an Athlon64 CPU, I'm using Gentoo64 and in the Wiki I saw to use march=k8. (I use -march=k8 -mssse3)
However, in the forum I notice many uses march=athlon64 instead...
What's the difference?
Thanks! |

march=k8, opteron, athlon64, athlon-fx are all synonyms. Use whichever looks most aesthically pleasing. _________________ My emerge --info
Have you run revdep-rebuild lately? It's in gentoolkit and it's worth a shot if things don't work well.

Nothing yet. It may change in the future (however it is unlikely) |
