Ciao a tutti, scusate il disturbo ma non ho trovato soluzioni nel forum.
Ho un laptop AMD64, riesco a leggere i filmati (per ora ho provato un mpeg) ma se uso mplayer la velocità raddoppia, mentre se uso mplayer-bin tutto funziona bene...
c'è un modo di dire a xmms di usare mplayer-bin invece di quello compilato?

ciao! ho avuto lo stesso problema aggiornando all'ultima versione di mplayer..
partiva il video a velocità doppia e mi compariva una schermata di errore che "bippava" sempre..
ho risolto giocherellando con le impostazioni audio.. se stai usando alsa prova ad usare oss o arts se usi kde..

giusto per capire se è lo stesso errore.. a me compare una finestra con il seguente messaggio: alsa-play: write errore: Pipe rotta
e quando fa così passo da alsa ad arts e tutto funziona bene... c'è da notare che questo errore lo riscontro solo con le ultime due versione di mplayer 1.0.20060217 e 1.0.20060302.. su ~amd64
intato potresti provare a lanciare mplayer da console e riportare l'output di errore..

Grazie.
Una domanda ancora, per far riprodurre i filmati da xmms ho scaricato xmms-xmmsmplayer, ma ogni tanto si blocca (devo killarlo) quando premo play (non ho ancora scoperto come il blocco sia riproducibile), mentre senza xmms-xmmsmplayer non viene riprodotto nessun filmato...
C'è qualcosa che mi sfugge?
Non so dare maggiori info al momento...

xmms-xmmsmplayer è un plugin per xmms.. ma in pratica è come se stessi usando mplayer comandato con l'interfaccia di xmms.. quindi tanto vale usare direttamenre mplayer/gmplayer

Questo è quello che vorrei fare. 
Da quel che ne so ora, xmms è solo un'interfaccia grafica.

si vede che usa direttamente mplayer ma nelle dipendenze non è previsto l'uso di mplayer-bin! (almeno cosi mi sembra) quindi come hai fatto ad installare xmmsmplayer senza mplayer?
se usi soltanto il precompilato di mplayer secondo me basta creare un link simbolico da /usr/bin/mplayer a /usr/bin/mplayer-bin

Ho prvato a disinstallare xmms-xmmsmplayer, ma ora xmms non va più, non mi apre più mplayer!

salve, raga..scrivo per l'ennesimo errore.
Avviando Mplayer vedo e sento i film a velocità doppia se non tripla insomma più veloci)...inizialmente pensavo fosserò i driver alsa.Fatte le dovute configurazioni e controlli mi sono accorto che qui era tutto ok, e di fatti la musica mi si sente benissimo(forse un pò meglio rispetto a win xp, ma non sò il perchè).
Allora ho ricontrollato i driver ati (presi con emerge ati-drivers) e mi sono accorto facendo glxinfo che il direct rendering non era attivo(potrebbe essere questa la causa???)

fatto come scritto nel sito non mi si avvia...non capisco il perchè...il xorg.conf è stato impostato con fglrxconfig e successivamente modificato com scritto nel link sopra.
naturalmente ho seguito anche l'howto relativo all'installazione dei driver ati, senza trovare una soluzione...
