there was a guide in this forum about installing portage on another distribution...
do someone knows whre it is(i lost some of my bookmarks due to a stupid filesystem coruption)
by the way(mabe i should ask this to portage and programing so don't ansewr if it's the wrong place)
and is there documentation of the internals of portage in order to modify it and also modify the ebuilds structure?
and does inherit kernel-2 works for ipk? or do i need to use ar?

Have you looked at the emerde project? _________________ Time is what keeps everything from happening all at once. |

i don't think emerde is very suited
but it seems very good for slackware
i have to deal with an embedded linux device with a part of the filesystem that is read-only
and also to be able to use ipk...
so mabe portage is not the best solution(mabe there is some other package manager similar to portage on embedded machines)
but it exist...
with portage i will mabe be able to use extended functions used in mac-osx or solaris such as not touching the filesystem in order to have a cleaner design that permit the installation of the files somewhere else... |
