Hi

I want a way of printing documents from my PDA or phone.
Unfortunately they don't support the Bluetooth Print protocol, and there is no 3rd party driver for them (Not that I have found, Motorola A100 and SE z800i for anyone who knows of print drivers for them).

So what I want to do is to setup my print server with BT and have it watch the folder to which files are sent, and if they match a list of filename extentions, ie pdf, odt etc I want it to print them and then delete the file.
Does anyone know of a program that could be used to do something like this, or would I have to write something myself?, and If I write it myself I could do with some assistance, I'm still learning the Linux programming languages and scripting langauges

Thanks

There's a program called watchd that does that (I think it's in portage as 'watchfolder'). It uses famd to watch a directory and perform a command on any new file based on rules you set in a conf file. emerge watchfolder and good luck (the documentation is pretty sparse, or was a year ago).

Thanks, it appears to do what I want, but how on earth do I configure it?

I at least have half of what I need, now I need to get some scripts (in whatever ever language works quickly, a BASH script would be nice) to determine which files can be printed.
