I've got a HP Laser Jet 1200.
I've installed and configure CUPC according to specs at gentoo.org.
Wehn I use driver recommended at http://www.linuxprinting.org/printer_list.cgi and use HP Model/Driver in CUPS config I get this error when trying to print test page:

E [17/Mar/2006:22:49:20 +0100] PID 31455 stopped with status 22!

When I say it's RAw instead of HP it prints OK.
I know it's a PCL printer and it should use RAW, but only for Windows and/or Samba. Right?

Well.. I;ve use hplip and now it works the "HP-way" 
However, it worked without it on my previous install
