ok so he goes what i have done.
i have decided to install gentoo on a vaio picture book, and am writing this query on mac osx. i decided that i did not want windows on my picture book. so i tried deleting windows me. first from windows, as suggested by ms from ms' site. was unable to do so the option did not exist. then i tried their next suggested wrought to uninstall, create a boot disk and delete by going some thing like this
1. select minimal boot 2.c: 3.cd windows\command 4.uninstal.exe
however uninstall (uninstal.exe) did not exist. so i did a dir exe to see what was there. well there was fdisk. well i dont like any of this so deleting primary and secondary and what ever else existed on my computer sounded good. so that was done. however now when i start the puter it say os not found, bla bla bla. i can however get into dos with my boot disk but that is all. i have a live cd for x86 burned and longing to be installed.
but i cant seem to get into my bios, did i delete it in my stupidity, what can i do form here.
thanx

Your in the perfect condition to begin your gentoo install =).
Just go into you bios (by pressing some key like "delete" or "F2" ... it depends on your bios and it should say when it is booting up) and change the boot up order so it's something along the lines of :
CDROM
then
HDD
then
....
Once you have it set up like this in the bios then just pop in your cd and voila ready to install. Enjoy. |

See if it is your Gentoo Bootdisc's issue, see if another cdrom will boot. |
