I reinstalled linux again cause KDE did this. But I now i have it installed and i have an amd64 install. I have installed Gnome-Light. I have an ATI Radeon X300SE. The latest ATI drivers. I just ono what could be the reason but it was complaining about adding kuraikumo to /etc/hosts and I did 127.0.0.1 kuraikumo so iono what could be the issue? |

It might be that it wants you to add the native host name for the other interfaces the computer is on.
Eg. 192.168.0.1 blah |

No that has nothing to do with freezing, hehe you didn't mention anything about your X freezing. What actually happens maybe you can post your errors or X log. |

Is the hanging happening when you boot off the livecd or when you booting your own install? |

When you mount the partition on /mnt/gentoo/ you should be able to get the logs via /mnt/gentoo/var/log/blah. |

It seems to be an issue with your ati-drivers. Have you loaded fglrx already? |

Exactly the same problem here, with my laptop (ATI Radeon 64Mb x300), except I'm using the kernel drivers for th ATI card.
I can post config tomorrow when I get to work and can have both comps on the network at the same time. |
