grab a copy of either the minimal install cd or the livecd(installation) from here...
http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/where.xml
make sure you read the documentation as well...
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/index.xml
...gentoo will be somewhat of a challenge for the new guy...but well worth the "learning curve" in the end. If you want to check out Gentoo without the 100% commitment, can check out the livecd. If you are really green with linux you could even get you feet wet on an easier distro, like debian, ubuntu, or any of the hundreds if not thousands of distro's. If you are intent on Gentoo...excellent...do your research and read the documentation so you will be familiar with the distro and the installation process. Good Luck and enjoy!
