Hi,

I am trying to get my shiny new bluetooth trackball keyboard working. I have found some threads here in the forums how to set a bluetooth keyboard up and it partly works. However I have the following problem: When I press some keys, I suddenly get a lot of "m" or "s" characters. This doesn't stop until I press a key on my normal keyboard. Looks like this:

Code:
tristan $ 1qammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

/var/log/messages also shows strange log entries. I googled for them but only found a kernel diff, which doesn't help.

Code:
Feb 20 00:27:18 tristan hidd[7773]: New HID device 00:02:72:49:3C:2D (Bluelogic Technologies Inc. Bluetooth Keyboard)
Feb 20 00:28:55 tristan hidp_input_report: Unknown key (scancode 0xbc) pressed.
Feb 20 00:29:03 tristan hidp_input_report: Unknown key (scancode 0xbc) released.

I noticed just right now that my normal keyboard also shows this behaviour. but apparently only when I press the "m" key. As soon as I plug out the bluetooth dongle the ghost is gone.

Does anyone have any idea ?

regards

Timo

Hi oystnsh,

yes I managed to get it working with the kind help of Marcel Holtman. He pointed me at his kernel patch. After applying that one and recompiling / installing the new kernel it worked.

You can get the patch from here:
http://www.bluez.org/patches.html

Last time a applied it, it produced one hunk and that was only a minor naming issue. It worked although.

HTH
Timo

Hi Timo,

Yes, I finally found a reference to the patch on the bluez-usrs mailing list after posting here yesterday, and everything is fine now. Than k you anyway for your answer. Now the only thing left is to map the multimedikeys, but that should not be to hard.

Regards,
Øystein
