|
|
Hi !
I just bought a FSC Amilo Pi with an IntelDualCore (XP Preinstalled)
I want to make a dual boot with Gentoo.
What should I consider to get the best performance?
Which Settings?
Does gentoo recogizes the right Processor by itselve?
Thanx! Roland. |

1. Read the documentation carefully. Here: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/2006.0/index.xml
2. In the doc there is a list a use flags. Read through this carefully. For p4 is USE="-O2 -march=nocona -msse3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
MAKEOPTS="-j3"
3. SMP must be enabled in the kernel also (to use both cores). I am not sure, if you need to enable HT.

For option 3: NO, HT is not included in the Standard Intel Dual Core processors, only in the Extreme Edition versions. |
