Salve
ho un server pentium 3 800 mhz 256 di ram con scheda video nvidia geforce 2mmx 64Mb che dopo 2-3 giorni di uptime si blocca
ho ricercato sul forum e su google e l'unica cosa che ho trovato è questa

è il mio stesso problema però il pc è apposto è tutto funzionante sicuro al 100% non sò più dove sbattere la testa..

Quali controlli hai effettuato per accertarti che il tuo hw sia affidabile ?
Rimane qualche errore nei log prima del blocco ?
Si bloccano mouse e tastiera o anche i tentativi di accesso via rete sono bloccati ?

si pianta proprio il pc però dal 2° pc riesco a pingare ma non và la rete nel senso che sshd non lo apre winscp idem tutto in timeout..
ho eseguito memtest86 e la ram è apposto ho messo windows sul pc ho eseguito tutti i test necessari scheda video ancora ram e processore e tutto ok ora ho rimesso gentoo ma si blocca lo stesso
mha non sò + cosa pensare.. |

Se risponde al ping non è completamente bloccato...
Nei log viene segnalato qualcosa prima del "blocco" ?

Controlla anche l'alimentazione, a me si congelava tutto e spesso si spegneva senza motivo, alla fine ho scoperto che l'alimentatore non funzionava bene, sostituendolo funziona tutto a meraviglia.

Magari mi sbaglio ma quelle scritte del kernel relative alla memoria io le ho viste solo in caso di esaurimento della memoria [swap e ram pieni]. Cosa gira su quel pc? Hai per caso toccato il valore alla variabile swappines? Prova a monitorare con l'uso di swap e RAM, magari salvando i valori ogni minuto, o 10 min... L'output occupa 230byte, dovresti arrivare per eccesso a ~30kB al giorno di log

sei certo di poter escludere un difetto fisico nella RAM?
i calcolatori hanno anche un ciclo vita, e può darsi che il tuo stia arrivando alla fine del suo ciclo |
