I second that CD cataloging app. Perhaps even something that looks through mp3s on disk, reads ID3s and sort them after various criterias.
That's what I miss =) _________________ Registred Linux user #191143!

Have you tried KDevelop?
Anyway, as for a GUI app that I would like to see: I would like to see a calendar/organizer type program. I know there's Evo (and I use it) but there have been times where I've previously wanted a light weight calendar/organizer. |

This is a REALLY simple app, but I know, at least for myself and other with similar needs, it could be VERY useful.
Basically, I'm taking Italian right now and it's a real pain in the butt to spend money on notecards, write words and definitions on each side, etc. So I was thinking the other day, it be great to have a nice little program where you simply enter in related values (for example, value 1 = grazie, value 2 = thank you) and then it creates a database of those related values. When you "activate" the database, it randomly presents a value, at which you tap any key (perhaps the space bar) to see the related value and see if you're right. Of course, it would be excellent if it could keep track of multiple databases of values so one could easily create sets of virtual flash cards for, say, Italian, physics equations, German, etc all at the same time.
Just a thought - I know this would be extremely helpful for me at least. |

Hello, i would like a good ssh connection managment GTK based gui like Putty, i have a few servers and have a number of ssh accounts so this would be handy.
The other one is gtk based information outliner such the windows software Vault ( http://www.personalmicrocosms.com/html/32bit.html )
I have found a few linux ones but they are either too slow (KDE Version) or too clunky and not really usable. |

Something non-kde, non-gnome yet GUI to record CD's with support for ISO's, music CD's and data CD's. I haven't found one out there, but I haven't looked really far yet either...perhaps you have some recommendations? (preferable works well with openbox?) |

I would like to see a full GL with AP/AR modules, billing system like Simply Accounting by ACCPAC or maybe Quickbooks with audit control.
This would be a gentoo-send _________________ When the power is out at least I have my wife! |

I second the NcFTP notion.
If you are going to do the FTP program, you could easily add support of ssh-ftp too :) _________________ In the end, the love you get is equal to the love you make

dgen-sdl, to my knowledge, doesn't have a frontend.
I've been thinking of starting one myself, but sadly my knowledge of GTK\QT is nil. |

check out korganizer if you have the kde components installed...it works pretty well and doesnt take up many resources |

1)xmms for gtk2 with optional gnome2 support would be great.
2)Port Grip to gtk2 and you would be my best friend
3) Also - If someone would port a cd-writing frontend to gtk2 (xcdroast or any of the gnome1 based ones) it would really make my day/week. Maybe even month.
Those are the only 3 gui apps I use that haven't been ported to gtk2. _________________ Sometimes I feel like Superman.

I'd like a GUI app that allows you to design and print CD Jewel covers WITH support for the card inserts you can buy. E.G. the jewel case inserts by PressIT.
I've found a few design and print apps, but none that allow you to print on special media or change the print layout. I used to use Nero Cover Desiger under Windowz.....
Have I not been looking hard enough or is there not a program that can do this? |

1) An xmms clone based on Qt that uses Qt styles, NOT bitmap skins
2) Number 1 again!
I get so fed up of changing my desktop look around, then having to find an XMMS skin that sort of works with it (but they aren't ever quite perfect), and I also get fed up of having to find gtk/gtk2 styles that work well with my favourite Qt styles (dotNET and Keramik, though Geramik does the latter pretty well). |

Yeah, but Geramik so far doesn't have a GTK2 port, which pretty much sucks when all apps support GTK2 sooner or later. Can't imagine someone not making a GTK2 Geramik. But I'm getting a little of course here...
-edit-
Well, just looked and it seems portage only has geramik-0.08 while there is a 0.23 version already. Just copy, rename ebuild stuff thingy and you can build it. It has Gimp 1.3 support and GTK 2.2 support *smiles*
-edit-
Code: | !!! ERROR: x11-themes/gtk-engines-geramik-0.23 failed.
!!! Function gtk-engines_src_compile, Line 167, Exitcode 2
!!! Compilation failed |
crap...
-edit-
0.18 works! Just do the copy rename thingy stuff with the .ebuild file. It's also gtk2. and 0.08 is GTK, so you need both (they co-exist). |
