Below is the configuration of the system I am trying to install:

Pentium D processor 2.8 GHz
250G SATA HDD
1Gig Ram

I am following the Gentoo Install Handbook. After installing the system logger and Grub, I reboot the machine but System says "no bootable device"

Below is the structure of my Hard drive

/dev/sda1 2Gig Linux Swap
/dev/sda2 150Gig ext3
/dev/sda3 95G Windows

Below are the configurations that I am passing to Grub

grub>root (hd0, 1)
Filesystem type is ext2fs, partion type 0x83

grub>setup (hd0)
Checking if "/boot/grub/stage1" exists... yes
Checking if "/boot/grub/stage2" exists... yes
Checking if "/boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5" exists... yes
Running "embed /boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5 (hd0)"... 16 sectors are embedded. succeeded
Running "install /boot/grub/stage1 (hd0) (hd0,1)/boot/stage2 /boot/grub/menu.1st"... succeeded
Done.

grub> quit

I unmount procs, dev and /mnt/gentoo partion and reboot the system. But when the system restarts it neither load Grub, nor show me any error. The system just says "No bootable device"

Any help is really appreciated.

did you mark /dev/sda2 as bootable in fdisk/cfdisk?
