|

I would like to install Gentoo without any X windows. I tried adding -X to my use flag, but it still seems to
want to install X11.
I was trying emerge nmap and it wanted to install all of the X11 stuff.
What am I doing wrong ? |

emerge -pv nmap shows the gtk USE flag - turn that off in /etc/make.conf. |

That fixed my problem, I was unaware of the -v flag. Is there a good way to remove the X stuff that I already
loaded when I was trying to install nmap ? |

Use genlop -l to show the packages you recently installed, then run emerge --unmerge on the ones you don't want.
emerge genlop, if you don't have the genlop command. |
