vpn problem when changed over ip address

when we changed our internet provider over from cable to a t-1 line(thru a cisco router) then into our linux server we can no longer log on to our server through our vpn. the only thing we changed in the gentoo box was the ip address, subnet mask, and gateway. does anyone know what i need to change to get back in from our vpn?
