For my work at a small t.v. station I'm setting up a video-archive server. All it has to do is record and store the last two weeks of broadcasting.
I've understood that with a lot of video-input cards, including the bt848-based one I'm using right now, you will need at least two cards; a sound card and a video-in card. My problem is that the server I have to work with only has one regular PCI slot, and a bunch of PCI-X slots.
Can anyone recommend a PCI card that handles both audio and video recording, or a PCI-X sound or video-in card that works with Gentoo?

The Hauppage cards will do both. I am personally using a PVR-500 and PVR-350 with great success. However, I am using seperate video and sound cards for the output. The 350 also has output for video and sound, but I haven't tested that functionality of the driver, although from what I can tell many others are successfully using the output from the PVR-350.

Thank you for your reply.
As long as input works, I'm happy. I was already considering the PVR-350, so it's nice to hear such positive stuff about it.
