Strange keyboard behavier in virtual consoles

I have a problem with my keyboard in virtual consoles.
In some applications like vim or nano the system automatically presses the return key after about 15 to 30 keys I pressed by myself.
The problem does not occur under X (xterm, konsole) although I use the same applications (vim, nano) there.
I also have no problem directly on the bash prompt in my virtual consoles. It's really only within the applications.

This problem is really annoying and makes editing config files nearly impossible. I hope somebody knows help.
