I'm having troubles giving out permissions. If I change the permissions on a folder I want those permissions to be made on the folders and files in that folder.
Is there a way to do this because I have got a large folder system and I don't have time to sit and click on all those folders and change permissions. |

You might also want to put a sticky bit on the directory. chmod +s directory_name This will make it so that any files or directories created under this directory will inherit the permissions of the parent directory. |

Setting +t sets the sticky bit, +s sets set groupID on execution
