ho da poco reinstallato gentoo, prima i driver andavano benissimo, adesso con lo stesso .config, ho dei problemi.
Le differenze tra prima e adesso sono solo la versione gentoo2006 al posto della 2005 e il kernel che ora ho il 2.6.15.6 e prima avevo un 2.6.12.3.
IL problema è che quando provo a dare X -configure, ottengo

la mia versione dei driver è : 8.23.7
mentre di xorg è la 6.8.2-r6.
Ho provato a seguire la guida, e ho cercato altri topic, ma non ho risolto,
Cosa posso fare? |

| hai provato a mettere un driver precedente? solitamente per lo xorg stabile bisogna utilizzare dei driver leggermente più datati. quelli più recenti dovrebbero essere per quelli in testing. |

| si ho provato sia con i driver in ~amd64 che quelli in amd64 e l'errore è lo stesso. é possibile qualche problema di use flags? |

io ho avuto dei risultati migliori con Xorg 7 (migliori relativamente) utilizzando la versione dei driver immediatamente precedente alla 8.23 . Quella versione sembra avere qualche problemino.

Io non sono mai riuscito ad usare X -configure ogni volta mi dava quegli errori. POi un giorno ho cancellato meta driver a mano ed è partito. Comunque personalmente ti sconsigli X -configure, da un bel e andrà tutto bene.
xorgconfig non delude mai.

Quello capita perchè non hai caricato glx. Dopo xorgconfig, edita a mano il file di configurazione di xorg e decommenta la linea load glx e al posto del driver video vga o quello che hai metti fglrx. Se vuoi anche il dri disabilita la linea load dri.

nulla, ho provato con sia a cambiare la riga che mi dicevi, sia ad usare dri, sia a prendere la versione dei driver precedenti, rimane solo di provare xorg 7... credo  |
