smtp and pop3 server witch to choose ?

Hi i whant to setup a mail server.
I was told that postfix and courier-pop3 a simple mail server tools.
When i use emerge to search for mailserver i get
net-analyser/postal. It seems it has both a smtp and a pop3 server is it easy to config or ?
Im pretty new in linux.

Hi,

since you said you are pretty new in linux, i suggest you follow some of the howtos in the gentoo-wiki and use
the software which is recommended there. Here is an example :
