Hi :)

Tried many times linux on pbg4 (powerbook5,6) but still use macosx. In fact I have to know if it's possible to have with xorg 7 and r300 : video & dvi-out, input & output sound (does it require dmix/dsnoop plugin for realtime?), about firewire hd, is there anypossibility to set automatic shutdown/sleep (for xample with a lacie d2 or a macway hd)?

I can't find any real answer to there questions on the forum, so if anyone could share its expercience in this thread ? thanks a lot :)

Hi! I am posting from Gentoo on a pb 5,6. I have Xorg 7 on it... I don't know about the dvi out, but I have output sound working with just the kernel alsa drivers. I haven't gotten wireless working yet, but others have, I don't know about the hard drive at all.

Hope that helps some...

Thanks for your answer :)

Dvi-out is in fact the most have feature I would have. I don't understant why dual head doesn't work

I have an apple cinema display 20" (1680x1050) that I would to use with it. I've only 64 mo of ram in graphic card. the screen is also recognised by the kernel. So. Any idee what could be wrong ?

I found this on google.

Maybe that will help?

You say that the computer notices that the external screen exists (right?), so... maybe....

Btw, nice screen :D

You will need to configure dsnoop/dmix if you want to mix multiple input and output streams. There's no hardware audio mixing.
Works well with Ekiga, bmpx, gaim etc...
