I can't figure out why, but after switching to xorg 7, about half of my Japanese fonts in Opera look like they are a child's handwriting, and it seems to happen with Korean too. Not just Opera, also amaroK, but I'm mainly concerned about Opera. I tried customizing the fonts using Opera's interface but it didn't help.

Here's a screenshot:

Yep, highly strange... it's really fairly irritating when reading the news, hard to take it seriously with that handwriting you know.

Maybe it has something to do with the fonts you load in your xorg.conf? I also have X.org 7 and run Opera (a 9.00 weekly build mind you) but my fonts are still nice and tidy...

These are my fontpath settings:
Code:
FontPath   "/usr/share/fonts/misc/"
FontPath   "/usr/share/fonts/TTF/"
FontPath   "/usr/share/fonts/Type1/"
FontPath   "/usr/share/fonts/CID/"
FontPath   "/usr/share/fonts/75dpi/"
FontPath   "/usr/share/fonts/100dpi/"
FontPath   "/usr/share/fonts/local/"

Nope, I have the exact same setup as you do.

Perhaps you should try manually changing the font(s) in Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Fonts -> International.

Thanks for the suggestion, and I guess I wasn't too specific before, but I've already tried that to no avail.
