LiveUSB + automatic start xorg?

hi,

i just finished the first version of my LiveUSB-Stick, including xorg. Xorg starts fine manually after hwsetup + mkxf86config are run in default runlevel.
But how can i get X to startup a single desktop for the default user?
Adding it to ~/.bashrc is not an option because i still want to be able to use the console...

The other problem is with the resolution, mkxf86config prints a max. resolution of 1024x768 instead 1280x1024 for my 19" TFT. Is there a way to fix this without using kernel boot parameters?
