I think I might've chmodded /tmp wrongly, because now gnome (2.12, on amd64) only starts as root. it quits as a normal user, because of ill set permissions on some file in /tmp, I know for sure, because at first it didn't start at all, then when I removed /tmp and restarted gnome, I could only use it as root. any help would be most welcome. _________________ GNU/Linux is an operating system.
IBM OS/2 is half an operating system.
Windows is a shell.
DOS is a boot partition virus.

Try chmod 1777 /tmp -R
|
