Hi.
Just few minutes ago tweaked my system to use three monitors with GeForce 6600 and GeForce 6100 via xinerama. The latter card comes with the northbridge of Asus A8N-VM. I use the latest nvidia-kernel-1.0.8178-r3 and nvidia-glx-1.0.8178-r1 with the 2.6.15-r1 vanilla kernel. (The vanilla simply because every 2.6.15-x gentoo kernel I've tried have had some strange issues with MTRR that have made nvidia drivers and X unusable.)
So, finally, the question is how can one control the glx module and which card it uses? As it happened that the renderer switched to the much slower card.
I assume that the answer could be very simple but my head got stunned with those three monitors. _________________ Iä! Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn! Iä!

Anyone?
I mean when I hit for instance 'glxinfo -i' or 'glxgears -v', the renderer is GeForce 6100/PCI, not the GeForce6600, and frame rates are about 1000 lower than I used to get.
May this be because of the BIOS settings, as I've enabled PCI>PCIE>IGP (the only other option would be IGP>PCI>PCIe)? Though this sounds highly illogical because no triple heads are tried. _________________ Iä! Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn! Iä! |
