I have a DFI Lanparty nF4 Ultra-D motherboard. It has a Vitesse VSC8201 Gigabit Phy and Marvell 88E8001 Gigabit onboard LAN. According to the wiki, I'm supposed to load up the forcedeth module. During the install, I could never get the Vitesse to be configured properly and just used the Marvell. Now, the Marvell Lan isn't even found and the Vitesse is. However, it doesn't configure it propely through DHCP and I need a way to figure out the ip address and such because the way I configured it I get an error "Network is unreachable". I would be grateful if someone could tell me a command or a way to determine my IP address or even a way to have this automatically configured properly. |

just edit /etc/conf.d/net, if you have no idea of how to edit this file take a look at the fourth part of the Gentoo Handbook 'Gentoo Network Configuration' |
