I currenlty trying to install gentoo on an asus a8v system and I am booting from the AMD 2006.0 min cd. I have ran badblocks on a drive that has already failed twice when running centos(different linux distro) and it throws this error for badblocks.
#> badblocks /dev/sdb

ATA5: status=0xd0 { Busy }
This continues on for a bunch of sectors. Is it time to replace the drive?
