I am having trouble getting my digital out working. Analog out works. I am using the onboard sound of a k8n4e-deluxe.

So I try:
aplay -D hw:0,2 testing.wav
and program runs and acts like it is working but nothing occurs, same thing
mplayer testing.wav -ao alsa:device=hw=0.2
I know the receiver has a connection because it indicates that it is receiving a PCM stream, even when I am not playing anything. When I pull the cable, it no longer says PCM. I have tried unmuting everything in alsamixer, muting some things but not others, but I have not had any success. Any ideas?

| Also I don't know if this means anything but alsaconf cannot find my soundcard, but I compiled it into the kernel. |
