At the end of the download of the first of the 3 X86 files (stages) I get this message
Code: | Out of Memory: Killed process 2872 (links)
Killed |
Is this a problem? or does that just mean links turns off at the end of the download? If it is a problem, how do I fix it? _________________ The box said Windows XP or better, so I installed Linux. |

Add some swap space - that's from oom_kill Quote: | The routines in this file are used to kill a process when we're seriously out of memory. |

It sounds to me like you are downloading the stage tarball to your RAM instead of to /mnt/gentoo. Try it again but make sure that you save it to your harddisk and not the livecd's environment. |

make sure you have mounted your swap in the first place
or whatever your swap partition is. _________________ "WARNING: you may LOL"
This is my font size, color, and signature. It will change to whatever I pick. How cool is that?
