Code: | emerge ibm-jre-bin
Calculating dependencies ...done!
>>> emerge (1 of 1) dev-java/ibm-jre-bin-1.4.2.04 to /
!!! IBMJava2-JRE-142.ppc-SR4.tgz not found in /usr/portage/distfiles
!!! dev-java/ibm-jre-bin-1.4.2.04 has fetch restriction turned on.
!!! This probably means that this ebuild's files must be downloaded
!!! manually. See the comments in the ebuild for more information.
* Due to license restrictions, we cannot redistribute or fetch the distfiles
* Please visit: http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/
* Download: IBMJava2-JRE-142.ppc.tgz
* Rename IBMJava2-JRE-142.ppc.tgz to IBMJava2-JRE-142.ppc-SR4.tgz
* Place the file(s) in: /usr/portage/distfiles
* Then run emerge ibm-jre-bin

You'll have to wait for them to allow the download, exactly as the page says. Sorry, but there's nothing wrong with the site, it's the US's strict export laws on some software. :p _________________ Gentoo PPC FAQ: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-ppc-faq.xml |

I didn't had that problem
set your Country to usa (or EU/NL)
but my problem is that i don't have a portage 'thingy' for dev-java/ibm-jdk-bin-1.5
and the dev-java/sun-jdk-1.5 is masked by something and this doesn't help
Code: |
# echo "=dev-java/sun-jdk-1.5*" >> /etc/portage/package.unmask
# echo "=dev-java/sun-jdk-1.5*" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
# emerge =sun-jdk-1.5*
|
BTW i have a G3 imac (rev B) |
