I'm following what the handbook is telling em to do and it says to do:
USE="-doc symlink" emerge gentoo-sources
Well I did that and it tries to connect to a site to download the file. I thought it was a networkless installation? (the one I'm using anyway) is there a way around this, or something else I could try? |

Are you using the minimal or universal 2005.1-r1 disk? The minimal will download everything you need. The universal disc has most stages and kernels on it, so it shouldn't try to download anything. |

What is the size of the install cd you are using?
If it's around 50MB, it means that you have burnt the minimal cd. Thus you can't install without an internet connection. |
