Well from my experience over the long weekend with the LiveCD i would say do not install using the liveCD. It caused me grief.
So what I did was loaded the liveCD and then used a console session to install Gentoo manually - much better as you have more control.

have you set your sync location int he make.conf?
Mine is SYNC=rsync://rsync.namerica.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage
and works fine. _________________ Gentoomania! Support the Open Source!

Did you copy your resolv.conf file to your /etc/resolv.conf before you chrooted?
Code: | cp -L /etc/resolv.conf /mnt/gentoo/etc/resolv.conf |

i tried, but i cant... i introduced in mi make.conf this
SYNC=rsync://rsync.namerica.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage
and i tried with europe, samerica and some others... but i cant, when i put emerge sync it recive the timestamp, and then it start downloading files: 100, 200,... and then it says 180 seconds passed retry 2 of 3 and when it stops retying it says that i have to try with emerge-webrsync, any idea apart of doing emerge-rsync?? i think that this is a common bug, i read in some other places abour this problem
thx!
