Hi!
As I boot the 2006.0 gentoo-CD (both minimal an live) on a Celeron 333 with 192MB RAM, the system tells me:
Code: |
>> Keeping default keymap
>> Determining root device...
>> Determining looptype ...
!! Invalid loop location: /image.squashfs
!! Please export LOOP with a valid location, or reboot and pass a proper loop=...
!! kernel command line!
BusyBox v1.00 (2006.02.16-15:43+0000) Buil-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
/bin/ash: can't access tty; job control turned off
/newroot # _

If I try another boot-CD, e.g. Knoppix, everything works fine.
If I try the same gentoo(minimal/live)CD in another pc, it works like it should.
What's the matter?
It shouldn't be a software problem, but what could it be? Especially because I bootet from the cds several times (~15x) before and it worked.
I didn't change the hardware config, except RAM, but I wouldn't associate it with damaged RAM. Because Knoppix doesn't care and works fine.
Any suggestions? |

Did you check the md5sum of the image before burning the cd?
Can you test the cd on another system?
If the knoppix cd does work, just use that to boot and go from there. Creating partitions, filesystems, mounting, chrooting etc is just the same really. _________________ Please add [solved] to the initial post's subject line if you feel your problem is resolved. Help answer the unanswered

I did not check the hash, but on other systems works the cd.
