Ciao a tutti,
sono alle prese con serverino casalingo che vorrei ridurre all'osso. A tale scopo emergo solo lo stretto necessario. I manuali mi vengono sempre fuori...esiste un profilo adatto allo scopo o è necessario specificare una serie di use flag? Ho provato lo stage basato sulle uclibc, è ok in termini di spazio ma ha tristi problemi con i pacchetti...qualche testimonianza diretta?  |

potresti dare un'occhiata ai profili embedded, oppure usare un profilo normale dal quale una volta compilato tutto quello che ti serve rimuovi la directory /usr/portage
dai un'occhio anche alla direttiva FEATURES="nodoc noman noinfo" |

...esattamente quello di cui avevo bisogno!
grazie! ora provo il profilo vserver con le FEATURES sopra elencate e vediamo come va... |

mmmh... però non pensare di salvare poi tanto spazio, così facendo.
salvi molti inodes, che sono preziosi, ma si spazio non tantissimo |

il meglio per salvare lo spazio è utilizzare uclibc ma purtroppo non compila tutti i pacchetti e a volte omette dei comandi che sono inclusi in un pacchetto...il sistemino che ho configurato con queste librerie è carino e l'ho messo in una chiavetta da 500 MB (ovv portage e sorgenti kernel esclusi) ma purtroppo gli mancano comandi che mi servono.
ad ogni modo con questo stage limitando i pacchetti da emergiare, i manuali e togliendo sorgenti kernel e portage credo di riuscire a fare un bel lavorino...
