I have tried and tried and tried and exhausted Google and I just can NOT get ET working on my AMD64 machine. I have an Nvidia card, and direct rendering is all fine and good, I just can't get ET to install. Here are the two error messages:
Code: | # ./et-linux-2.55.x86.run
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing Enemy Territory 2.55............................ [lots more dots]
This installation doesn't support glibc-2.0 on Linux / x86_64
(tried to run setup)
See http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/linux/ for troubleshooting
The setup program seems to have failed on x86_64/glibc-2.0
See http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/linux/ for troubleshooting

And also:
Code: | # linux32 ./et-linux-2.55.x86.run
Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing Enemy Territory 2.55............................... [again, lots more dots.]
./setup.sh: line 143: 21010 Segmentation fault "$setup" "$@" 2>>$NULL
The setup program seems to have failed on x86/glibc-2.0

Most obvious question is do you have glibc installed?
Do you have 32bit emulation installed? |

Why don't you emerge it ( instead of running the installer directly ) ? |

Well, currently I'm trying to install it on a Ubuntu machine, is why . And yes, glibc is installed (I'm not sure if you could compile anything without that puppy) and I have 32 bit emulation enabled. _________________ Registered Linux user #356840

You also want 32 bit libraries installed. The ones you want depend on whether you have a "multilib" setup or make use of a 32 bit chroot. |
