Hello !. I' ve this problem. When I boot using the gentoo dodmraid kernel/option combination after booting finish, I go to /dev/mapper and I see 3 differents "raids" instead of only one as it should be. What can I do ?
ps: The idea is not to loose any of the data already in there. (Dual booting)
Specs :
AMD 64
DFI LanParty ultra-d (nf4)
Raid:
3 sata II STRIPPED
Partitions:
1º windows NTFS
2º DATA NTFS
3º a lot of unalocated space (80gb)

Maybe I'm wrong ... what should I find in the /dev/mapper ? Diferent raids or partitions ? Beacause my raid has 3 partitions, the same number of devices that shows in /dev/mapper ...
Edit:
In this guide : http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Install_Gentoo_with_NVRAID_using_dmraid#Testing_dmraid
It says :
Quote: | Using fdisk to partition
When you partition your drives, do not use /dev/sda1, etc. Although Gentoo knows that a raid is there, it also knows that there are two disks and is not afraid to treat them as such. Be sure to fdisk your raid as a whole, by referring to it's mapped location (found in /dev/mapper/)
fdisk /dev/mapper/nvidia_abiccada
(Note that your raid name may be different)
Upon completing fdisk, you should reboot so the kernel is aware of the partition table changes. Remember to include the dodmraid option when you start the LiveCD environment again. |
Well I have 3 in /dev/mapper/ not only one ... |
