I'm having some problems with my laptops (Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo D 8830) battery. The battery doesn't work at all. The moment I pull out the ac adapter my laptop dies.
I'm truly hoping that the battery is completely dead as the new one costs somewhere around $150-180.
Here's my info:

I have the exact same problem. My battery is dead and it is just over a year.(Out of Warrenty)
How old is yours?
I beleive yours might be dead also. I think the charging is done at hardware level. You don't even need apm compiled into the kernel for the charging to occur. |

I think mine's about two years old. It truly seems to be dead, just didn't want to believe it just yet. But I don't really want to buy an new battery since the problem can be somewhere else and buying a new battery in that case would make me only lose $150. Well, since the laptop is over two years old I might just as well buy a new one. Just don't have a clue whats good now a days. Any ideas? _________________ Just because I have nothing to say is no reason why you shouldn't listen. |
