After this kernel upgrade, i've re-emerged all needed packages, like media-video/qc-usb
It emerge well, but there's no module after emerge...
So, normally i only need to modprobe quickcam, but now:
Code: | modprobe quickcam
FATAL: Module quickcam not found.
|
And:
Code: | ls /lib/modules/2.6.16-gentoo-r3/drivers/usb/
<empty>
|
Any idea? _________________ The capacity to learn is a gift; The ability to learn is a skill; The willingness to learn is a choice. |

EDIT: Found a workaround here. It should also be possible to pause the emerge (CRTL+Z) at the right time before portage deletes the temp-files in /var/tmp/portage/qc-usb-0.6.3/ and copy the module.
If you use the method described in the above link, don't forget to tidy up afterwards and delete that stuff.
Same here, tried with ck-sources-2.6.16-ck3 (I think it was already the same with gentoo-sources-2.6.15-r1).
...
>>> Test phase [not enabled]: media-video/qc-usb-0.6.3
>>> Install qc-usb-0.6.3 into /var/tmp/portage/qc-usb-0.6.3/image/ category media-video
install: Aufruf von stat für ,,quickcam." nicht möglich: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden
man:
...
(my system talks german, in english it would be something like "Calling stat for "quickcam." not possible: File or directory not found.)
Anyway, the emerge finishes without errors, but no module gets built.
The same behaviour is true for the quickcam.sh installation-script in the tarball from http://qce-ga.sourceforge.net/. _________________ ---

This workaround works indeed.
Thank you.
