So im embaresed to say but i havent used gentoo in months all because of world of warcraft. i d/c the drive and instead bought a new 160gb sata for more space.

so now i have 3 drives: 160 sata, 80 sata, 80 ata. my gentoo is on the 80 ata. as it stands, i turn on the machine and windows has installed their little nice looking boot loader (pfhhf) to switch between my new windows, 160, and the old windows on the 80. so. my question is:

when i figure out getting my ata to the first boot order, how do i program grub from there, do i do two different entries for each of the window or can i tell it to boot from the 160, where it will then prompt the windows boot loader?

also i got a dvd burner, do i just look on gentoo-wiki for a guide on that?

-thx. slug.

also, what kind of upgrades am i going to need to do. my system is a 3.4.4 1/3

The most stable version IMO is to let the windows boot manager handle the boot chain. Else it happens from time to time, that windows overwrites the MBR and you lose your grug installation.

Install grub to the boot record of the partition that holds /boot and copy the boot record of that partition to a file that you copy to your windows partition.
