Well, after at least a couple years, I'm reinstalling gentoo. I tried Arch linux which isnt bad, but their still new. Then I used Fedora for a while, but the bloat really bugged me. Plus there were several times I needed to understand what was going on under the hood and Fedora just hid it from me. I really like the Gentoo philosophy, I just sometimes get impatient waiting for programs to compile. However, this time around I'm more experienced and I think I respect the Gentoo way more.
I can't wait for the install to complete. _________________ Murff

The first Arch release is actually older than the first Gentoo release. _________________ meow. |

I can't believe why people are still leaving Gentoo. Because they always return ... this is another example of that behaviour

Well... mostly because they totally mess up and don't feel like reinstalling and setting up everything again. The installer is a godgift for these people.
I messed up too and I thought I'd just check out Dapper so I can do something useful while compiling, and it's always nice to see how the desktop distro's are doing. |
