Hello,
I got a rendering font problem with fluxbox : I emerged the artwiz fonts but they don't seem to be diplayed correctly by fluxbox. I think they are known from the system as they are rendered correctly when I launch a Eterm -F anorexia for instance (or an xfd -fn anorexia). I replaced the font names by their full qualified names in the style file as specified in the fluxbox doc (I'm using version 0.9.14 of fluxbox), the fonts displayed changed but they're still not rendered properly.
Other thing strange but I don't know if it could be the origin of my problem : making a fc-cache -fn shows me :
... (font caching)
/usr/share/font/artwiz : skipping, 0 fonts, 0 dirs
And the font.cache-1 file in the artwiz directory is empty (or just contains 0).
If someone had an idea or an advice for where to look it would be very helpfull, these fonts drive me insane !
P.S. : sorry for my english |

I've had similar problems with Fluxbox fonts in the past. I just did a fresh reinstall, and I decided to try to solve the artwiz problem right off the bat. It's working now, heres what I did:
Since I couldn't seem to get the artwiz fonts to work correctly by emerging, I skipped portage this time and downloaded the revised fonts directly from this site into my /tmp directory: http://artwizaleczapka.sourceforge.net/
Then do the following:
Code: | cd /usr/share/fonts
tar xjf /tmp/artwiz-aleczapka-en-1.3.tar.bz2
cd artwiz-aleczapka-en-1.3
mkfontdir |
Now go to your xorg.conf and add the following line under Section "Files":
Code: |
FontPath "/usr/share/fonts/artwiz-aleczapka-en-1.3/"
|
Restart X and check xfontsel to see if it picks up the new fonts. This is what worked for me on a fresh Gentoo 2006.0 install. _________________ phoric |

I typically dont install masked packages and last time I had problems getting it to work even after emerging it. I just found downloading and extracting the files to be easier and it works on the first try. After all they're just fonts. _________________ phoric |
