Hi!
I have HP Pavillion 5000 Notebook. Shortly, I cannot open some DVDs which is opening even in a other old computer. Is it because of the DVD (is it damaged or something?)? I asked somebody who said that I need to update the firmware but at the HP homepage I cannot find the update of "DVD/CDRW Drive (GCA-4040N) Firmware Update"
Can anybody help me please!!!
Greetings and thanx... |

what happens when you try and mount them manually ?
i.e.
mount /dev/dvd /mnt/dvd
or
mount /dev/hdc /mnt/dvd _________________ x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-9400F CPU @ 2.90GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux GeForce GTX NVIDIA 1660TI 16GB |

the DVD doesnt work..it shows empty...But my other DVDs are working...it's just two of my Data DVDs which I have new...The weird thing is they are working in other computers...
By the way: Why would a laptop shut itself down suddenly? It happened two times. First time I was making a Image with eProgramme Ghost, and second time while I was watching a DVD...Can it be because of the DVDs??
Greetings and thnx in advance... |
