(moved from Desktop Environment forum)
I'm running Xorg 6.8.2 with the vesa driver for a intel 945G integrated graphics controller on a Dell Optiplex G620. The DPMS option is turned on for my monitor in xorg.conf. However, I am unable to control the monitor with DPMS. For example, commands like: xset dpms force off, have no effect. Any ideas on what I might try to get this working? Here is the output of xset q

(Update)
I tried using an old ATI card tonight in place of the on board intel 945G chip with the ati driver in xorg.conf. DPMS works under this configuration, so the problem is definitely related to using the 945G chip with the vesa driver. |
