|
|
I need to go back in time; I want to demonstrate how some newish web-sites look on some very old web-browsers. I've noticed that the ebuilds for Netscape Navigator and Netscape Communicator do not seem to work on AMD64, and they are probably never likely to be supported. Is there a way round this to get 'em working?
Help me travel back in time! _________________ Sal |

Mozilla 1.0 is way too new. I need something old and super-flakey ... Netscape Communicator or the absurdly obscure Netscape Gold edition. I am looking for classic netscape, form the golden age of the internet. I am trying to re-create those by-gone days. _________________ Sal |

I was thinking of that; I wanted a distro circa 1998 or 1999 - it's qute hard to find a download for truly aincient Linux as naturally nobody sets up torrents of truly aincient Linux distros. _________________ Sal |

Or what's about that?
[EDIT]
OMG, if that is not too ancient for you, then I don't know ...
At least it works on AMD64 - it even displays some sites from today. Freaky. |

Actually that was perfect. Netscape Communicator falls pretty much in my time frame which is anything before 1999. I was somewhat pleased to see that a binary compiled long before my AMD64 chip was ever invented worked fine. _________________ Sal |
