I have a tyan tiger 200 (s2505) dual socket 370 motherboard, with the Apollo Pro 133a chipset.
The machine I took this drive out of had the same chipset, though wasn't an SMP machine, so a slight modification to my kernel config, a rebuild, and I could boot the machine, with both processeors recognized.
Unfortunately, ethernet never comes up, says eth0 doesn't exist. (LAN works with e100 or ee100pro, it's intel based)
I use lspci, and it gives me no output whatsoever (however, it does work on ubuntu, and the ethernet devices are created, but won't get an IP address, probably a seperate problem)
lsusb produces no output either.
Dmesg says mostly normal stuff about PCI, cept for one odd thing, PCI Quirk (and something about via irq fixup)
I have reset my cmos, still, no pci devices are recognized with my gentoo kernel, though they are in ubuntu.
