I'm having trouble upgrading to glibc-2.3.1-r4 from glibc-2.3.1-r1. It fails during build. Here is the error i get....

Looks like you have a problem with your compiler or related tools. The illegal instruction error means your compiler crashed. Must be related to your CFLAGS or something...

ya I have had this problem and then later realized I left a " off of one end of my CFLAGS or typo'd something.
I have learned to use my lazer vision to scan that stuff, cause it's easy not to see what you missed.
