|
|
I've got a working install of openslug 2.7. I have the following on the attached 160gig usb hd:
Code: | # fdisk -l /dev/sda
Disk /dev/sda: 160.0 GB, 160041885696 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 19457 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 1 366 2939863+ 83 Linux
/dev/sda2 367 489 987997+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris
/dev/sda3 490 19457 152360460 83 Linux |
I've been reading the threads/wiki's/howtos on how to get gentoo installed.
My concern is this, if I put gentoo on /mnt/gentoo on /dev/sda3 would I have any problems using the upslug tool? Would it automatically upload to /dev/sda1 or can I specifiy sda3 somehow?
Do I even need to keep the filesystem structure that's on sda1?
If I can't, what's an alternative, scp?
I'm trying to make this a media server of sorts.
Your input on this is greatly appreciated.
TIA,
Bill
EDIT - I apparently did not read the gentoo wiki closely enough on first pass, as it says to:
Code: Create a filesystem
# mkreiserfs /dev/sda3
Hopefully, upslug will not cause any problems. Bill _________________ Gateway NV78 notebook(dual core, x86)
