Hi Everyone,
I'm trying real hard to install gentoo on my amd64 box. Anytime in the installation, it hangs with the following error :
ata1: command 0x25 timeout, stat 0x50 host_stat 0x24
I'm clueless about kernel and stuff.
Please help.
Thanks,

I disabled acpi support from my bios settings and everything worked well..
I'd wanna know what would be implications of disabling acpi support ? Do I need to pass special parametered to kernel or it's ok if I dont do it ?
Thanks,
