Not sure if this is the right forum but couldc not see where else my problem would best fit.

The problem is with the system clock (as opposed to the hardware clock). The time reported by date will ocasionally jump ahead approx 71 minutes for less then a second and then back to the correct time.

I am not running ntpd so it is not a misconfiguration with that program.

I am using kernel 2.4.20 from kernel.org, gcc 3.2.2, on an AMD 700 system with an Epox EP-7KXA motherboard. Not sure what else about my system would be helpful in solving the problem.
