bootstrap.sh fails

When running bootstrap.sh (I'm using the 1.0 iso image rather than the 1.1 one by the way) it failed while trying to get texinfo and aborted.

I *have* done everything else in the instalation instructions up to this point, including emerge rsync.

What might the problem be here?, what can I do about it?

would using 1.1a sort things out?

hi,

don't know why, but the 1.1a image isn't any better, just start off with stage 2 or stage 3. Mine didn't bootstrap either . They are i686 compiled, so there cannot be much of a gain by compiling them yourself, unless you have something less than a i686.
